H. Vestibule in Conversation with a Wall
Author of The Load-Bearing Wall Considers Its Options returns for an evening of close reading and structural anxiety. Vestibule will read selections from the revised fourth edition and take questions from the audience. Questions about the wall will be prioritized. Questions about Vestibule will be considered.
Wine will be served. The wine is not load-bearing.
Introduction to Rooms (For Adults Who Have Been in Rooms but Feel Uncertain About Them)
A two-hour workshop facilitated by Petra Hallway, author of Windows: A Grief Memoir. Participants will examine the room they are currently in and discuss what it means that they are in it. No prior experience required. Chairs will be provided, though their placement will be left open for discussion.
Limited to 12 participants. Harold will not be facilitating but may observe from the doorway.
The Fenestration Committee Presents: Proportions (Final)
The Fenestration Committee will present the definitive edition of Proportions, following the Third Revised Edition (2019), the Third Revised and Corrected Edition (2021), the Third Revised and Corrected Edition with Addendum (2022), and the Fourth Edition Which We Are Calling Final (2024). This is the final edition. The Committee has agreed.

CultOfTheChairPeople: An Evening of Sitting
Representatives from the CultOfTheChairPeople Institute joined Harold for a reading and demonstration. Attendees were invited to sit in chairs selected by the Institute. Most found this comfortable. One did not. His account was heard with interest.
Annual Inventory Evening
Harold counted the books. The number was not disclosed but described as "consistent with previous years, allowing for drift." Light refreshments were served. The store was closed to customers. Two customers did not notice and remained until asked to leave. They were not asked to leave unkindly.

Harold Tall's Named "A Bookstore" by Regional Publication
A regional publication covering independent retail included Harold Tall's in a list of bookstores. Harold acknowledged the recognition by adding three new titles to the "Structures That Did Not" section.
New Section: Corridors
Following sustained customer interest — or what Harold has termed "a pattern of hovering" — a dedicated Corridors section has been established between Rooms and Thresholds. It contains eleven titles. Harold considers this sufficient.
Holiday Hours Were Different
During December, store hours were adjusted. They have since been readjusted. The store is now operating on its standard schedule, which is posted on the door and also on this website, in the About section, where Harold feels it belongs.
